A Tradition of Sweetness: Our Family's Pecan Toffee Recipe
This beloved recipe began generations ago with my grandmother Astrid in Norway. A gifted cook, she crafted her signature toffee using almonds as the base. After immigrating to the United States, she married a wonderful man from her homeland and raised six children. After marrying my father, a proud Texan, my mother became known for her renowned toffee. With pecans abundant in Texas, she adapted the recipe, replacing almonds with fresh pecan halves. Every fall our family would gather to pick pecans, spending hours shelling them together. It was a labor of love and tradition that made the toffee even more special. Today, thanks to the convenience of Hines Nut Company here in Dallas, we continue the tradition with the freshest pecan halves. These sweet, moist pecans paired with the rich, crunchy toffee and topped with smooth chocolate create irresistible treat. Each bite is a testament to our family's history and a celebration of flavors that have been perfected over generations.
